FAMILY REUNIONS

October Friends

Valentine Lakeside Resort has been hosting family reunions for over 40 years. Some of our current families have been meeting here for twenty years or more. There’s a reason they keep coming back – friendly service and outstanding facilities.

If you’re thinking about beginning a family tradition, just remember – summer isn’t the only good time of year. Try fall for cooler weather, spring for the wildflowers or winter for Thanksgiving, Christmas or New Years gatherings. We’ll be happy to help you with suggestions to make the most of your event.

WATERFRONT

The quieter Llano River arm of Lake LBJ is a vacationer’s dream.
And you should have seen the ones that got away!    Joan with fish Fish Caught on Lake LBJ

Whether your ideal activities are water sports, fishing or relaxing and watching the boats go by, we have a spot for you.

Family Fun on our Boat Docks   Boat Launch

Your boat can be launched from our concrete ramp and we have ample parking for your trailer. Slips with a lift are $12.00 per day, slips without a lift are $8.00 per day and personal watercraft ramps are $6.00 per day.

Our lighted boat docks include electric lifts and ramps for your personal watercraft. Whether you choose an electric lift or regular slip, your boat will be protected from the weather and ready for your next run. You can plug your battery charger into the electrical outlet right in your slip.

FISHING HOUSE

Fishing at the Fishing House at Valentine Lakeside Resort   Fish Dock at Valentine Lakeside Resort

No matter what the weather or time of day, you can fish in comfort in our recently renovated, enclosed, lighted fishing house. A covered, outside deck allows guests to enjoy the breeze and serene view while bringing in crappie, bass or catfish – some of our most popular fish. April and October seem to be the best months for crappie, although they are caught year ‘round.

Children and adults alike enjoy building fires in the wood burning stove – we supply the wood. Lots of kids have caught their first fish here. We make it easy by selling bait and small tackle. And don’t forget your camera!

SPRING

Blue Bonnets Each spring our landscape and roadsides are blanketed with wildflowers – sometimes well into the month of June.

Since some of the prettiest areas in the state are near Lake LBJ it’s no wonder that so many people stay with us while attending the Annual Bluebonnet Festival and enjoy the Wildflower Trail; and don’t forget the Crawfish Open, Art & Wine Trail and Spring Arts & Crafts Shows.

SUMMER

Swimming Pool and Valentine Lakeside Resort

Whether you’re relaxing in the hot tub, splashing in the pool,
or simply sunbathing beside it, this is the place to unwind.

With vacations, holiday weekends and the kids out of school, summer is the most active time at the lake. No other resort in the Highland Lakes can boast of having a heart shaped pool as well as a hot tub. The pool area is enclosed by a vine covered fence for a bit of privacy.

Kingsland has a great Fourth of July celebration with its "Aqua Boom" activities, including street and boat parades, a poker run and an Arts and Crafts Fair. Our waterfront provides great viewing of the spectacular fireworks display.

FALL & WINTER

Fall and Winter at Valentine Lakeside Resort

Fall and winter are among the best kept secrets about the Texas Hill Country. The weather is warm – not hot- and the nights are cool. This is a great time of year to climb Enchanted Rock, the country’s second largest monolith.

The Hill Country is home to many varieties of birds, and even more visit as they fly to and from their winter homes. But some of the most famous birds – American Eagles – make their home right here. Visitors come from all parts of the world to see the three adult eagles tending their young in a nest just off State Highway 29.

Valentine Lakeside Resort is a great place to unwind and share stories after a day of deer or turkey hunting. "Fish Tales" are not the only ones told here!

Winter at Valentine Lakeside Resort

It’s also a great time to gaze at the stars, roast marshmallows and make S’mores around our fire pit.

Thanksgiving is a wonderful time to gather here with your family. Pick up pecans as they fall from our stately trees and treat your family to a fresh baked pie! Picnic on the lake

The Hill Country really lights up during the Christmas Season – and Valentine Lakeside Resort is one of the best places to stay while you see it all. The Walkway of Lights in Marble Falls is a treat for all ages. In Burnet, Main Street Bethlehem brings alive the story of the Nativity and Christmas at Fort Croghan takes you back to life on the Texas frontier.
